Getting to Vis

Ferry connection

The easiest way of getting to Vis is taking a ferry from Split (there are also some rare connections from other places). The operating company, Jadrolinija, offers 2-3 connections daily (passengers + cars) and one more – passengers only. The journey lasts for 2 hours and 20 minutes by the ferry and 1 hour and 25 minutes by the passengers’ catamaran.

All the ferries from Split depart from the harbour: 43.504678, 16.440299.

If you are travelling by car, you should arrive in the port of Split at least 2 hours before the ferry departure – in the high season (July-August) ferries tend to be occupied and the ticket does not guarantee the place in the garage.

Getting to the Port of Split

GPS coordinates of the Port of Split: 43.504678, 16.440299.

The Port of Split can be easily reached by car: it is around 400 km from Zagreb, 760 from Vienna, 880 from Munich and 1080 from Prague. If you are not a big fan of traveling by car, you can always pick from the variety of different opportunities. There are trains and buses coming to Split from all over Europe. The international bus and train stations are located exactly next to the ferry area.

There is also an international airport in Split. Getting from the airport to the harbor is easy. There is a direct bus going in the high season every half an hour exactly from the terminal to the international bus station. The journey lasts for about 35 minutes and the tickets are sold on board in the price of 30 HRK or 5 EUR.
